Spring Family Photography Session

One lovely evening I met Jemma, Dan and their two beautiful children at Hylands House in Chelmsford for their pre-wedding photography session. I like my couples to get the most of these sessions and have meaningful photographs that they will want to display, so was more than happy to invite their children along too, so they could update their family album, whilst also enjoying their pre-wedding session.

The light was beautiful and warm and I was enjoying getting to know them all. There was an Asian wedding taking place in the house, so there was the faint noise from the DJ floating over the breeze, and it made for a really upbeat vibe to our shoot. We chatted and walked around the grounds, stopping at various points I'd already sought out to take some photographs. It was quite quiet at this time of day, so we didn't have to dodge any crowds. I love shooting at Hylands House grounds, as there are lots of opportunities to shoot - plenty of trees and shrubbery, structured and natural, beautiful flowers, benches, rolling fields, forest, arches, brick walls...it is also large enough to find privacy.

The girls settled into the shoot really quickly and easily and Jemma and Dan followed soon after. We broke the shoot up with some couple photographs mixed in with family ones and individual ones of the girls. It was great to see them relax into the shoot, and open up more.

I really love to do these pre-wedding sessions, as it really does help come the wedding day. I find couples are much more relaxed with me, aware of how I work and know what to expect and there are no awkward 'first meets' to get out of the way.

I often say it, but before I became a wedding photographer I never realised that one of the biggest things I would enjoy about doing this is the meeting of new people, and I've been very lucky as all the couples I have met so far on my journey have all been kind, interesting and generally lovely people. It really makes my job so much more enjoyable. Meeting Dan, Jemma and their girls was yet another lovely experience, and I'm so privileged and excited to be photographing their upcoming wedding.

"Tracy has provided us with a pre wedding shoot in the golden hours of highlands park Chelmsford where they captured some beautiful images of us, Tracy has worked extremely well and was able to give us our photos within a few days to pick out our prints we are extremely excited to see them printed."
