A Scorching Day at The Channels Estate

Becca & Ben booked me a long time ago! The pandemic meant they had to reschedule their wedding plans a few times, but they were adamant they were going to be married, and I admired their patience and determination to still have the day of their dreams, and that they had!

They were to be married at The Channels Estate in Chelmsford, Essex. A beautiful space in leafy Essex which has a stunning barn, beautiful grounds and modern accommodation for couples and their guests to enjoy. Decorations provided by @Simplyrustic3.

We joined Becca and her bridal party in the bridal suite on the morning of the wedding. Preparations were in full swing, and we quickly began work in capturing the mood, the items and the actions of the morning. Becca was as cool as a cucumber, enjoying the moment. Hair & makeup was being done by the very talented @amyjanelawrencemua. Dresses by @serena_bridal.

Ben had been secretly treated by Becca to an exciting ride to The Channel Estates - in a new Ford Mustang! And boy did he look good pulling up at the venue! Go Ben! Ben and his Grooms' men arrived looking very smart and ready to support Ben in his big day. Trying to keep cool, we captured a few shots of them before the ceremony.

Soon enough it was time for Becca to make her way over to the ceremony, and in the blistering heat we made our way to the service, which was going to be held outside under the beautiful 'arch' in the grounds of The Channels Estate.

The intimate number of guests were gathered in the seating, waiting for Becca to make her way to her Groom, who was nervously waiting with his Best Man. 'Beauty & The Beast' started to play over the sound system, the bridesmaids and Becca and her father began to make their way out of the barn and down the aisle.

Becca and Ben chose a civil ceremony, but also wanted to have a blessing from a vicar who was well known to the family. Along with some readings, this was all played out over a video call to a wider guest list, who because of social distancing rules at the time, were unable to attend in person on the day.

Congratulations to Ben & Becca! Who after much anticipation and waiting were now Mr & Mrs Wilkinson!

Although not much shelter, The Channels Estate has beautiful grounds in which to photograph in, and I tried to make full use of it all (whilst trying not to drag Becca & Ben around too much)! They were also keen to pop back out a bit later in their day, when the sun was beginning to set so we could get some more shots, thank you guys!

After some teary and emotional speeches, they cut their cake which was a mash up of a Harry Potter and Disney theme (excuse the pun), two of the couple's favourite subjects. This was also evident in the fabulously detailed table centrepieces they had curated. I was blown away by the detail and care they had taken to create these super personal touches.

We were so privileged to be a part of Becca & Ben's day, and I was super pleased they opted for an album - a permanent, solid reminder of their day and all the people that shared it with them, that will last for generations.

We wish them all the best of luck in their marriage together.
